On May 17, 2022, in San Francisco, USA, the Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh witnessed Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and Cisco signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU outlined the cooperation in designing and bringing to market a flexible and appropriate digital transformation solution to meet the digital transformation needs of all businesses.
VNPT’s expertise and in-depth understanding of the local market, coupled with Cisco’s global leadership in optical, networking, and 5G technologies will help the two sides deploy next-generation networking applications for many different market segments, which clearly identify a strategic vision for market development and the selection of appropriate technology and connectivity solutions to fulfill the set vision in each period.
To build and provide digital infrastructure in Vietnam, the two sides will jointly design and implement the optimization of VNPT’s backbone core infrastructure towards virtualization and build flexible, secure, and advanced connectivity infrastructure packages for organizations by applying advanced technologies such as SDN, SD WAN. Besides, VNPT and Cisco will also cooperate in researching and developing 5G core network to manage and deploy high-speed, low-latency, and secure 5G applications, delivering next-generation connectivity solutions to Vietnamese enterprises and helping them to achieve the goal of digital transformation.
Through this cooperation, VNPT will be able to fully exploit its existing network capacity, improve the capabilities of it’s transmission networks and mobile networks to be ready to provide digital solutions for businesses in addition to providing high-speed connection services that are different in technology, superior in quality and meet the needs of customers and the market.

Today’s cooperation between VNPT and Cisco creates another opportunity for VNPT to further improve its ability to provide next-generation technology applications and digital solutions in Vietnam, especially for businesses. “We believe that the MoU signed today will not only help the cooperation between VNPT and Cisco reach a higher level but also create a premise for us to continue joining hands with the Government of Vietnam in accelerating digital transformation,” affirmed Mr. Huynh Quang Liem.
