Yet again, Cisco’s commitment to driving positive social change proved that it is a sustained effort made possible only by the dedication of our employees. This Earth Month, Cisconian determination was seen in action during #Time2Give week in the APJC region between the 17th and 22nd of April.

Time2Give is a program that gives employees paid days to volunteer with non-profit, mentoring, fundraising, and giving back to a community of choice. During Earth Month this year, employees across the Asia Pacific chose to use their time to make a positive impact on the environment.

The #Time2Give week saw 214 volunteers across the region make the most of 788 hours to generously put their hearts and hands into activities such as beach and harbour cleaning, rooftop farming, tree and seedling planting, cleaning community spaces, painting sessions, and even an Environmental Carnival. The activities were all closely aligned with Cisco’s purpose to Power an Inclusive Future for All that benefits our employees, communities, and the planet, engaging almost 700 community members and helping educate them about the importance of protecting our planet.

The results were remarkable and proof that just a handful of people can help make the world a better place.

Almost 300kg of trash collected, 110 trees planted (1 tree provides a day’s supply of oxygen for at least four people. Do the math!), and helped farm vegetables enough to feed 600 families.

*slow clap*

The video below is an inspiring presentation of the efforts, emotions, and teamwork that have gone into supporting environmental protection.
