1. Power a Multicloud World

We live in a multicloud world. Using multiple clouds from different providers has become the new normal. But this new normal is not easy to operationalize and secure.  Organizations are challenged to deal with the increased complexity across data, policy, and security with multiple providers and control points. At the same time, they have to improve and enhance end-user experience and operational efficiencies, while ensuring the best possible security efficacy.  This is where Cisco helps.  Cisco brings together networking, security, analytics, and management across a customer’s environment to help customers connect, protect, and consume clouds in a multicloud world. New partnerships with leading cloud providers such as Amazon Web Service (AWS) and Google Cloud Services can provide an integrated platform for enterprise customers to more simply build, secure, and connect data centers across multiple platforms. In 2019, Cisco will lead the industry in delivering solutions for multicloud security, connectivity, and workload consumption optimization.

2. Intent-Based Networking & Software-Defined WAN

By 2019, we estimate 93% of organizations will be using multiple clouds for Infrastructure, Service Delivery Platforms, and SaaS business models. Driven by this trend, there will be a greater need for end-to-end visualization, WAN optimization, and new policy models to support new types of cloud environments, IoT, and workstyle transformation. This will  enable faster innovation and enhanced user experience. The success or failure of a company's digital transformation will depend on network resiliency, reliability, and security. Cisco wants to enable businesses of all sizes to deploy an Intent-Based Network, which provides a smarter, simpler, automated, and more secure networking environment. Wired or wireless, no matter the size, the introduction of these new software defined capabilities with rich security services will make Intent-based Networking accessible to every customer, from small businesses to the largest of enterprises and service providers. In 2019, across campus, branch, WAN, and datacenter, Intent-Based Networking and Software-Defined WAN will be critical to both network and application deployment.
