ISTANBUL, Turkey, May 26, 2022 Turkcell, a leading digital service provider in Turkey, has chosen Cisco’s technology to introduce a “zero-touch” approach to its entire network, including its four data centers.

A zero-touch network uses a high level of automation to reduce manual tasks such as upgrading and configuring devices. For Turkcell customers, this means that the provisioning of new services may be accelerated from days to less than an hour. In addition, with the help of pre-defined processes, the chance of errors may be reduced significantly. As a result, customers can experience a seamless service with proactive quality monitoring and the ability to heal problems before they occur. Early warning scenarios eliminate the impact felt by users when services need to be moved to a backup path.

For business customers, the increased availability, reliability and accelerated service delivery results in faster time to market. For individual consumers, Turkcell is providing its own digital services such as IPTV, a messaging platform, music streaming and more. Many of these services are now delivered by the zero-touch network with a better user experience.

The new, zero-touch network was built with Cisco® Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI®), one of the world’s leading application centric software-defined networking solutions, and Cisco Network Services Orchestrator (NSO), a network automation platform widely deployed at the world’s largest service providers. One of the benefits of Cisco NSO is broad support for 3rd party infrastructure. This makes it simpler and quicker to automate processes in a complex, multivendor environment. Turkcell took advantage of this to build and deploy a self-service portal that allows both internal teams and enterprise customers to quickly process new service requests.

“With Cisco ACI, Turkcell is supporting more than 3000 switches and 30 routers across four next generation data centers.  Our new network has supercharged Turkcell’s operations. We now have entirely new levels of agility and flexibility” said Elif Yenihan Kaya, Core Network Capabilities Director, Turkcell. “Infrastructure and service deployments that used to take days, now take less than an hour. For new deployments, we have just to select the router and the service, and the network does the rest itself. This contributes to our zero- touch networks digital transformation journey.”

“The need for connectivity and digital services has increased exponentially over the last 2 years and will only continue to grow. Data centers are at the heart of the hybrid, multi-cloud and application-centric world we are living in,” said Murat Canturk, Deputy General Manager and Head of Service Provider Business, Cisco Turkey. “Turkcell is known as a company that brings the latest technology innovations to the people of Turkey, and at Cisco we are proud to provide our latest technology solutions to help enable Turkcell’s vision.”
