WALLISELLEN, Switzerland, April 3, 2019 – digitalswitzerland and Cisco announced today they are collaborating on a joint ICT education initiative based on the educational platform of digitalswitzerland. As part of this collaboration, Cisco Networking Academy courses and content are available on educationdigital.ch for free.

"The cooperation with digitalswitzerland is an important pillar of our Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program. As part of CDA, Cisco is initiating a series of initiatives in areas such as education, healthcare, and the workplace," said Chris Martin, CEO of Cisco Switzerland. "With that, our aim is to contribute to the acceleration and sustainable implementation of digitization in Switzerland."

Cisco Networking Academy for digitalswitzerland

Online learning content from Cisco Networking Academy is now accessible on the educational platform educationdigital.ch. The focus is on basic and advanced courses in the areas of networking, security, Internet of Things (IoT) and Linux fundamentals. In addition, business-related courses, such as entrepreneurship and digital skills, are also available.

Anyone can register free of charge and complete the courses online at his or her own pace. In total, 190 hours of content are available in various languages, including German, French and Italian. Individual courses can take between 6-70 hours to complete, depending on the subject.

"Digitization has an impact on our entire life. It is all the more important to give people the opportunity to get prepared for it, whether they are beginners or professionals," says Garif Yalak, Dr. sc. ETH, Head of Healthcare and Education in the Country Digital Acceleration team of Cisco Switzerland. "With these courses, anyone can get foundational knowledge and then move on to additional learning paths to obtain industry certifications that open the door to a career in ICT."

Cisco Networking Academy: a global education initiative for ICT skills
