Cisco will be featuring solution demos, speaking sessions, customer events, and partner activities, to help global cities become digital and sustainable

 

Barcelona, November 7, 2018 – Secure digital infrastructure that makes smart living possible and profitable, is more relevant than ever. However, cities must manage economic constraints, the effects of rapid urbanization and challenges of environmental sustainability. They also have to address evolving citizen expectations for public safety, health, wellbeing and accessibility.

At Smart City Expo World Congress 2018 next week, Cisco will show its commitment to help global cities become digital and smart to cut costs, drive efficiencies, create new business models and enable better quality of life for residents and visitors.

Cisco solutions are enabling connectivity, productivity and security in communities, transportation, education, healthcare and local government around the world. Cisco expects a large presence with a 300-square-meter booth, solution demos, multiple speaking sessions, customer events, partner activities and more.

 

Digital Platform for Cities

By securely connecting and enabling communities, Cisco and its partners help enhance standards of living, improve public engagement, reduce operational costs, increase management efficiencies, create new revenue streams, and ensure environmental sustainability and economic vitality.

Cisco is displaying innovations across its holistic Smart+Connected Communities (S+CC) portfolio, Digital Network Architecture (DNA), and Cisco Kinetic for Cities, to transform public spaces into smart connected communities, which will be shared during product demonstrations, speaking engagements and joint-partner activities at the show.

Cisco and its partners, as well as the cities like Cary (North Carolina), Dortmund (Germany), Seville (Spain), and a large delegation from India, will be featuring telling their collaborative stories at the Cisco booth (Stand D461, Hall 2, Gran Via).

 

Demos and presentations

At the Cisco booth (D461), the company, partners, and customers will show several demonstrations (healthcare, security, connected transportation, customer experience…) and Cisco presentations (Circular Economy, Intent-based Networking for Cities…) and partners’ (Streetlighting, Teradata, Cimcon, Ikusi, Qiang, Quantela, Itron, UrbanLogiq, Stantec) aiming to help global cities become digital and address social, environmental and economical sustainability.

Cisco will also host a roundtable event with City of Dortmund and Smart Cities World (Wednesday 14 November, Hotel Porta Fira, opposite SCEWC, 12:00-13:30 pm). In addition, Seville (Spain) City Major and his team will be showing an innovative system for controlling the flow of people and intelligent lighting designed for large events’ safety and security (Thursday, 15 November, 10.00 am at Cisco booth). Visitors can also find out about the Medibus success story for refugees in Germany at Cisco booth.
