Howard Kennedy LLP is a London-based law firm specializing in providing advice to businesses and individuals on domestic and international matters.
Howard Kennedy worked with Gold Certified Cisco Partner Cisilion to refresh its core infrastructure to reflect the adoption of hybrid working across the organization. The existing system was deemed no longer fit for purpose due to higher demand for video conferencing and remote working.
Cisilion used its Cisco-certified Advanced Specializations in Networking to refresh Howard Kennedy’s estate with Cisco Catalyst 9000 switches and access points. The wireless solution was approaching end-of-life therefore restricting the ability to adopt wireless technology and support hybrid working. Across the network there was a lack of viability, and with legacy workstations connected to the network via ethernet and wired phones on all desks users were restricted from moving freely around the office.
To address these challenges, Cisilion deployed a scalable Wi-Fi infrastructure with Cisco Catalyst 9000 switches and access points for highly secure connectivity. It fortified the network with Wireless LAN controller powered by Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers and for user authentication deployed Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). Cisilion Managed Services brings 24/7 support across the entire estate including monitoring, update management, and advanced hardware replacement.
As a result of the network refresh users gained high performance and the capacity to support simultaneous video and audio conferences, while VLAN and Wi-Fi 6/6E support enabled the IT team to take a proactive approach and Cisco ISE granted single pane of glass visibility across the network. The ability to embrace hybrid working increased productivity and the office experience was transformed using flexible mesh guest Wi-Fi.
