Patrick Bikar

Head of Business Architecture Center of Excellence

Cisco EMEAR

Patrick Bikar leads Cisco’s Business Architecture Center of Excellence in EMEAR. This group of 100 Business Architects is focused on 3 goals: helping customer executives create the story of Digital Transformation for their organization, e.g. through a one-page strategy, or Digital Journey Dashboard (DJD); answering pressing business challenges with cutting-edge technology solutions through agile Business Innovation Sprints (BIS); architecting the multi-domain technology platform that will empower the Enterprise Digital Agenda and deliver business impact at speed.

Over the last decade, Patrick has helped numerous CIOs and their IT department become the drivers of Digital Transformation in their organizations. How to effectively meet the strategic business drivers (WHY), gradually evolve the IT operating model (HOW), and build the secure, intelligent platform that will accelerate business innovation (WHAT)? Cisco Business Architecture offers an agile and pragmatic answer, delivering value at every step through practical, collaborative engagements, powered by Design Thinking.

In 1999, Patrick graduated first of his promotion as a Telecommunications Engineer from the University of Brussels, Belgium. His certifications include Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE 7045), ITIL 3, TOGAF 9, and Business Architect Transformation Program (BATP). He was a Cisco Chairman's Club Winner in 2008 and 2014. In 2014, Patrick finished a 2-year Executive Master in IT Management (Solvay Business School), which gave him a thorough understanding on how to “run IT like a business”.

Understand how the Intercloud elegantly meets Public Sector IT requirements

Public Sector IT organisations are weary of vendor lock-in. And rightfully so: it is hard to buy cloud services from any supplier you choose and then freely manage these services as if they were part of your own extended private cloud. Main reason: lack of ability to connect different clouds: privat…

GOVERNMENT

So you’ve got a cloud strategy? Sorry. What you need is a roadmap.

Like many IT organisations, yours probably knitted a “cloud strategy” some years ago. But do you have a clear roadmap to execute the required changes at all levels (people, processes, technology, services) in a stepwise approach? If not, your strategy is likely to remain just that – a “strateg…

IT Value Map: your compass for cloud transformation

In my previous blog, I explained how COBIT 5 provided a robust framework to understand your users’ expectation for IT services. With this knowledge in mind, we can now depict the value that your IT department should provide going forward and how success will be measured – in other words, we can now…
