Jim oversees the Banking Practice within Cisco’s Americas Business Transformation Group, assisting Cisco’s banking customers in the development of new technology solutions to meet their business needs. The Practice works directly with banks to drive business outcomes via new technologies and processes. This is done by identifying and qualifying new opportunities, contributing industry expertise and insights and helping drive efficiency within the bank. The Advisors and Architects within this practice work closely with each other to create opportunity-specific architectural blueprints and the corresponding roadmaps for implementation. The team takes pride in evaluating customer success based upon adoption, utilization, value realization and knowledge-transfer… equipping customers to realize the full value of their technology investment. Specific areas of focus include next generation branch and home banking, channel integration, mobility, data analytics, and security.

Jim’s expertise prior to joining Cisco focused primarily on data analytics and enhancing bank revenue within the retail, small business, and commercial lines of business for Tier I and Tier II banks. During his two and a half years as a Managing Partner at Abeam Consulting (formerly Hazelwood Partners), Jim oversaw all consulting hiring practices, was an integral part of the project sales team, project planning and delivery and new solution development.

Over the previous decade, Jim was an EVP and Managing Director with Carreker Corporation (now part of Fiserv). He played a leadership role in building the Revenue Enhancement practice across the Banking vertical. Jim started his career working for Ernst & Young’s National Cash Management Consulting Practice, assisting banks with Float Management, Correspondent Bank Relationship Management, DDA Reserve Sweeps and Cash Inventory Management.

Jim received his BBA, MBA, and J.D. from the University of Iowa. His education includes additional graduate studies in International Law at Uppsala University College of Law (Sweden) and the Leningrad College of Law (Russia).

Jim and his family live in Fairway, Kansas, where they founded Toast to the Troops, a charitable organization that frequently sends care packages and special requests to U.S. troops stationed abroad. They regularly support the Kansas City chapter of the March of Dimes and the First Downs for Down Syndrome annual wine auction.
