Yvette Kanouff

Senior Vice President/General Manager

Service Provider Business

In March 2016, Yvette Kanouff was named the Senior Vice President/General Manager of the Service Provider Business. Kanouff leads the development strategy for Cisco’s Service Provider segment, including core routing, switching and optical networking, network and service virtualization, service provider access networks for mobility, cable, wireless, cloud, and video software and solutions. She leads a global team of engineers, architects, product line managers, technical marketing engineers, and business development managers delivering innovation for the service provider customer segment.

Previously, Kanouff was the Senior Vice President/General Manager of Cloud Solutions, where she led teams focused on cloud virtualization, cloud infrastructure services, and service provider video. She joined Cisco in 2014 as the Senior Vice President/General Manager of Cisco’s Service Provider Video Software and Solutions Group.

Kanouff brings more than 20 years of service provider, media, and software experience to Cisco. Prior to joining Cisco, she was Executive Vice President, Corporate Engineering and Technology at Cablevision, where she was responsible for the company’s strategic technology and critical engineering objectives, as well as identifying emerging technology opportunities. Previously she served as President of SeaChange, where she spearheaded its transition from a hardware company to a software company. Kanouff helped move the industry toward webcentric, open standards–based solutions and architectures. In the role of Chief Strategy Officer for SeaChange, she secured the company’s position as a leader in video on demand (VOD) and established the company’s software division. She also was Time Warner Cable’s Director of Interactive Technologies.

Kanouff has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics. She began her career in digital signal processing technologies.

Kanouff received the National Cable and Television Association’s 2014 Vanguard Award for Leadership in Science and Technology and was named an industry Pioneer at the 2016 Internet and Television Expo. She won an Emmy for her work on video on demand with SeaChange and holds several patents on VOD-related digital technologies. Broadcasting & Cable has named her one of the 11 most influential women in the television industry. CableFAX included her numerous times on its Top 100 Women list, named her the industry’s “Top Techie” for 2011, and included her in its CableFAX “Digital Hot List” for each year from 2012 through 2015. Other accolades include the 2001 Multichannel News Wonder Woman award and the Woman in Technology award from the SCTE and Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT).

Outside of her responsibilities at Cisco, Kanouff is an executive member of WICT, a senior member of the SCTE, and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), including participation on various IEEE award and medal selection committees. She is active in speaking, moderating, and industry technology efforts.
