While more than 99 percent of things in the physical world today are still not connected to the Internet, the phenomenon called “The Internet of Everything” will soon wake up everything imaginable. As the network evolves and changes, becoming more sophisticated, the job roles and education requirements of network engineers also continue to change.
Gartner Research forecasts that worldwide IT spending will reach $3.7 trillion in 2013. In order to maximize the ROI of IT solutions, education is imperative. Companies require properly trained IT professionals to deploy, support and troubleshoot new and emerging technologies.
To enable our global community of partners and customers to realize the benefits of new networking solutions, we are pleased to announce the redesign of the Cisco Associate-level career certification programs and the evolution of the CCNA certification to CCNA Routing and Switching certification. Check out the video below to learn more about the changes:

The redesign allows the Associate-level concentration certifications such as CCNA Routing and Switching, CCNA Voice, Security, Wireless, SP Operations and CCDA to better align with evolving industry job roles. The updates include comprehensive troubleshooting, IPv6 and the latest technology and software on Cisco routers and switches.
With the Associate-level program redesign, candidates are now capable of pursuing advanced technology certifications in an accelerated manner.

So, are you going to update packet tracer as well? Network simulators just became more important as most people (especially new to networking) can not afford routers that support IOS 15 just to study on.
Hi Howard,
Yes, the Networking Academy courses will be updated to align with the new CCNA Routing & Switching certification, and thus Packet Tracer will also be updated to support the new courses. Please look for an announcement on this soon.
Hi Jeanne,
I’ve enrolled in Cisco TelePresence courses at a Cisco-authorized learning partner. Unfortunately, the learning partner has postponed the courses four times. Would you help, please? Id really like to attend the courses as soon as possible (I’ve made full payment).
The learning partner is Fast Lane Asia-Pacific. The courses are TSOT and TICT, to be conducted here in Singapore. Fast Lane has postponed them from Nov-Dec ’12 to Jan ’13; and then again to Feb-Mar ’13; and then again to Apr-May ’13; and then yet again to Jun-July ’13 pending confirmation. It’s beginning to look like the classes will postponed yet again.
I’d really appreciate if you could help me out. Thank you, Jeanne.
