At Cisco, inclusion and collaboration are part of our core values. We know having a diverse workforce drives innovation and creates an environment where every employee feels respected and valued for their unique contributions. It’s one of the reasons I’m so proud to have worked at Cisco for the last 22 years.
At the start of my career, I was often the only woman in the room. In 1997, I founded the Women’s Action Network starting with five women in the Midwest and a vision for a community of women who support and inspire each other. Twenty years later, I am amazed to see how that original group of five women has grown and evolved into Cisco’s global Connected Women organization with thousands of members and chapters in 42 countries.
Our mission is to “attract, develop, retain and celebrate women as part of a competitive and diverse workforce.” To accomplish that goal, Connected Women, along with Cisco’s Office of Inclusion and Collaboration and our sister organization Cisco Empowered Women’s Network (CEWN) come together each year to hold our annual Women of Impact Conference, coming up this year on Wednesday, March 7th.

Over 15,000 Cisco employees, partners, and customers are expected to attend this year across 100 locations around the globe, as well as virtually. The theme, “Together, For Change,” couldn’t be more relevant given the global conversation about the challenges women face in the workplace today, with new campaigns like #MeToo and #TimesUp. In the entertainment industry, media, politics, and our own tech industry, women are sharing their stories, supporting one another, and working Together, for Change.
Join us on March 7th to hear from our inspirational speakers, expand your network, share your ideas, and learn actionable steps to grow personally and professionally.
Start the conversation today by sharing your stories and photos of how you’re working Together, for Change on Twitter @Cisco_WOI and be sure to use #WOI2018.

#WOI2018 "Together, for change"
I was able to participate last year, and I can't wait to go again! It's an amazing way to meet people, recharge, and come #TogetherFOrChange!
Looking forward to the day in Irvine/#SoCal, where we have partners and customers joining us.
Alison's experience of being the only woman in the room (back in 1997), is still a regular experience for me today. One of the things I love about the WOI event every year is the opportunity to connect with so many other women in tech and expand my network, which is critical to ensuring that women don't feel isolated in this industry. Together, for Change!
I can't wait to hear the speakers, but I'm also psyched for the break-out sessions. Dedicated time to talk about issues of inclusion and diversity can be hard to come by, I'm glad Cisco carves out this time.
I've attended Cisco's Women of Imact since it started years ago. Every year it keeps getting better and the speakers always resonate with me. I'm looking forward to this years event. We have a lot to talk about!
I work with CHILL (Cisco Hyperinnovation Living Labs) and Kate O'Keeffe, and we are bullish on offering more women in tech the opportunity to join our Distinguished Entrepreneur program. We have partnered with The Guild in the past, and we are excited to participate in more women's events in the future. Really looking forward to the event on March 7!
This event is so inspiring. Each year at the end of this day, I just feel so happy and proud to be a woman and part of Cisco. This year, I have invited some male members of my team to attend as well this event.
I had the chance to meet some of the wonderful women from Cisco in a "Women in STEM" conference and I am amazed with your energy ladies, and all what you do to Empower Women.

This will be my first WOI event, I am looking forward to attending – having read the comments below I am quite excited
Looking forward to this – thank you!
The most amazing day of March 🙂
