Michael co-founded and led BroadSoft as CEO from its early start-up days to becoming the global market leader in Cloud Communications.
Recognized as a pioneer in this industry, Michael grew the organization to almost 2,000 employees, serving customers in 80+ countries. His focus on the Service Provider partners and their end-customers enabled BroadSoft to become the cloud provider of choice for the largest and most successful service providers in the world, which led to the acquisition by Cisco in 2018.
In his new role at Cisco, Michael leads the Cloud Calling product strategies and missions, and continues to drive the BroadSoft Business go-to-market efforts. In this role, Michael will integrate Cisco platforms and drive adoption of the Cisco Calling platform into all the end-user segments. He will also continue to drive the go-to-market and sales efforts with the Service Providers globally.
Prior to that, Michael was Vice President of Engineering of Celcore. He was responsible for the development and introduction of wireless systems around the world and also responsible for the company’s business venture in China.
Before that, Michael held a number of senior management positions at Nortel Networks Corporation, where he developed the vision of changing how communication services are delivered to service providers. He founded and led a services development business unit that helped local exchange carriers build and deploy advanced services on their digital networks.
Having an eye for innovation, Michael was selected as a judge for the 2017 Forbes Cloud 100 list. He was honored to receive the 2006 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the Emerging category.
Michael holds 2 patents the area of Advanced Intelligent Networks and Call Control in Public Networks.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from McGill University.
