Director, Technical Marketing

Software Platforms Group

As an accomplished technical executive and technology advocate, I focus on how corporations can fundamentally change and modernize interactions and transactions with partners and customers. My passion for business transformation has led me to file many patents, to publish groundbreaking papers and instructional articles, and to serve as a thought leader speaker at technical events. My current research and writing efforts are concentrated on digital transformation throughout a business ecosystem.

Over the past 25 years, my technical perspective has been at the forefront of most emerging technologies such as network communications, distributed computing, pervasive computing, enterprise application integration, service-oriented architecture, platform computing, customer experience and most recently, the Internet of Things.

My current position, global Director of Technical Marketing within Cisco’s Software Platforms Group, is pioneering the future of Cisco’s analytics and automation portfolio. Prior to joining Cisco, I was an IBM Distinguished Engineer, Member of IBM Academy of Technology Leadership team and Director Technical Sales for marketing and commerce software.

I hold bachelor degrees in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering, with a Masters in Computer Science. I am a member of ACM where I work with the University of Colorado-Denver School of Engineering and Computer science student chapter.

When I’m not consumed with technological innovation, I enjoy spending time outdoors in majestic Colorado with my wife and five children and participating in various church-related activities.
