We have been enabling service providers to transform the experience, transform the business and transform the architecture with cloud-based capabilities. Service providers now have more options to achieve business outcomes such as increasing revenue, decreasing operating expenses and enhancing agility when implementing Cisco strategy. Using the Cisco Open Network Strategy for service providers, you as a service provider can take full advantage of your untapped network value, improve business agility, and simplify operations.
This year at Cisco Live San Diego 2015, we have prepared a great collection of demos in the Service Provider booth. Please take a look at the list below. Our demos are aligned with and reflect all three key types of business outcomes. When you come to the booth, you will able to run a wide variety of demos. As our experts take you through a story, they will explain which demos map onto what business outcomes.
We invite you to visit the Service provider booth to learn about the Evolved Programmable Network (EPN) and Evolved Services Platform (ESP). The Evolved Programmable Network (EPN) is designed for web-speed agility with an open, elastic, and application centric network infrastructure, while Cisco ESP is an open software suite that lets you quickly deliver new services for your customers and expand your business footprint.
When you are in the booth, come and learn about Software defined networking (SDN). SDN is a technology with great promise to save money and make money for network operators of all types. When implemented correctly, SDN can fulfill this promise. The greatest savings potential is a significant reduction in your operating costs. Learn how you can make money through:
-
Making existing services more flexible at a lower cost for better margins
-
Modifying or deploying new services for faster time to revenue
-
Facilitating broad innovation in services and markets
Done right, an SDN will improve functionality, flexibility, and business agility. It will support higher-performing applications and better use of your network assets.
In the Booth, we are here to tell you our virtualization story. NFV can potentially take any network function normally residing in purpose-built hardware and abstract it from that hardware. Once abstracted, the function can be managed as a software module that is deployed on a standard computing platform.
NFV helps you move away from multiple isolated networks, custom-built equipment, and complex operations. Instead, you work with an open ecosystem and an orchestrated set of virtualized network functions (VNFs). On achieving these benefits, you can further expand your business by exploring new business models and cloud-based service offerings.
While in the booth, take a test drive of our Orchestration and virtualization story as we combine it with the Virtual Managed Services solution. Service providers like you can use Cisco ESP to rapidly create and deploy new secure cloud based network services within their physical and virtual infrastructure. Each of the virtual managed service capabilities, such as firewall, load balancer, and wide area acceleration, are deployed as a VNF on virtual machines. Using Cisco ESP to deliver virtual managed services yields significant advantages over the traditional approach. The network operator can create a catalog of customized Virtual Managed Service offers that they make available to their business customers via a self-service portal. You will see for yourself how Cloud VPN–a family of cloud-based business connectivity and applications services—is offered by service providers to their end customers.
Service Provider presence at Cisco Live is ever increasing. We will have great business-level sessions and techtorials for you as well as keynotes, and “meeting the Executive” programs.
