So we were back in London this week to attend the annual Global Telecoms Business Summit and Innovations Awards, and what a great industry event it was. Lots of customer interactions, industry networking, exchange of best practices, and of course the Innovation Awards.
The Global Telecom Business Summit and Innovation Awards is an annual event that celebrates innovative solutions created by telecom vendors together with operators to make a difference to the world. Cisco, Aspider-NGI, and our partner Telindus won the award for Business Service Innovation for “Virtualising ‘configure on demand’ Iaas” where Aspider-NGI leveraged Cisco’s Industry Leading Virtualized Packet Core Solution to dynamically scale to support the dynamic Global Data Growth.
What is the problem that we identified? Network flexibility, OpEx reduction, and increasing Time-To-Market are all critical areas for Aspider-NGI when differentiating themselves verses the larger carriers. ASPIDER-NGI allows Mobile Virtual Network Enablers (MVNE) and mobile operators to engage their customers with compelling service plans, engaging promotions and innovative content, all designed to build loyalty and increase revenue.
The Solution: Virtualized Mobile Platform

ASPIDER goal was to extend mobile services with faster time to market and lower cost of entry to Mobile Network Operator (MNO), Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) and MVNE customers across the world. By moving the mobile operators infrastructure to the Telco Cloud, Aspider-NGI was able to “Virtualize ‘configure on demand’ Infrastructure As A Service (IaaS)” service offering. Selecting the Cisco® Virtualized Packet Core (VPC), Aspider-NGI was able to deliver the network elasticity and service agility needed to turn on new services for their clients who rely on ASPIDER for their branded cloud-based mobile services. Working closely with Telindus to make this happen for Aspider-NGI, Cisco’s platform gave Aspider-NGI the integrated network policy control that they required in order to meet the demanding needs brought on by the Internet of Things and increasingly data-centric mobile services.
The Results:
With an eye on providing network operators with disruptive service solutions, ASPIDER-NGI has taken a forward-thinking approach that enables clients to push customer engagement, build loyalty and increase revenues. With the Cisco VPC Aspider-NGI has been able to improve TTM and network flexibility for their customer base as they continue to expand and support their customers globally.
