One of the best aspects of my job is when I get to recognize my team for their passion, dedication and excellence – characteristics that I see and appreciate in them every day. It is always exciting and humbling when they are recognized across the industry for their outstanding work.
Today, I’m extremely proud to share that the Cisco Security and Trust Organization and some of our key leaders were recognized recently with prominent industry awards. I’m particularly gratified about our organization winning Gold for two noteworthy awards among the many Cisco wins this year by these influential industry organizations:
- 2017 International Business Awards (Stevie Awards) – IT Team of the Year
The Stevie Awards are the world’s premier business awards, created to honor and recognize the achievements and contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide.
- Golden Bridge Awards – Management Team of the Year
The Golden Bridge Awards honor and generate industry wide recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and businesses worldwide.
These two gold awards spotlight our organization’s continual resolve to build and deliver secure, resilient and trustworthy solutions. It’s a tribute to our leaders’ commitment to maintaining robust protections for our customers, products and company, driving pervasive security and integrity in all that we do, and striving to earn your trust every day. We’re honored and grateful for this recognition that spans our entire organization.
The SC Media Reboot Leadership Awards recently recognized Edna Conway as a key Influencer. These awards recognize executive and professional leaders for their unique, inventive and inspiring contributions that shape the industry, provide thought leadership, and have a positive impact on cybersecurity. The Women’s Society of Cyberjutsu – an organization passionate about helping and empowering women to succeed in the cybersecurity field – also recognized Edna with the Cyberjutsu Award for Cyber Advocate. So proud.
Additionally, a panel of global Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) recently nominated Steve Martino, Cisco VP and CISO, as one of the Top 10 Finalists for the Breakaway Leadership Awards. This award is peer-selected, based on exemplary leadership and influence in the global CISO community. To be selected amongst the industry’s competitive list of CISOs is a significant recognition in-and-of-itself. We’ll be keeping watch and fingers crossed for Steve to be one of five winners selected on September 19.
It’s not just that my leaders have the knowledge and experience that sets them apart. Each look for opportunities to share the best of what they know and do to protect Cisco with our customers, partners, and across the industry. This exemplifies their commitment to being open and transparent, being accountable to help solve the challenges of cybersecurity, and doing what it takes to help Cisco earn your trust. It’s true at the leadership level and it resonates throughout our organization. We’ve created a culture of security at Cisco where everyone has a role to play to ensure that we protect our, and your, data and privacy. See how we do it at our Trust Center.
Well deserved recognition for two of Cisco’s many security professionals. Edna has taken supply chain from a topic that many ignored to something that any good security professional considers as part of any buying decision. Steve’s leadership of the information security organization has created many talented security professionals both within his team and others that graduated and work throughout the company. Thanks John for sharing and your leadership.
