Read what Gee Rittenhouse has to say in his latest blog about our leadership position in the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Network Firewalls and the multi-year journey to reimagine the firewall as the foundation of a truly integrated security platform.
Update 10/8/2018: Added Magic Quadrant graphic and report reprint link in accordance with Gartner’s guidelines.
The network is the foundation of robust security, and the critical network security element is the firewall. For that reason, Cisco has been committed to delivering a next-generation firewall that can stop threats at the edge and focuses on security efficacy. Those efforts are paying off in substantial momentum, and market observers are taking note.
Gartner has named Cisco a leader in the 2018 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Network Firewalls. We believe our position in this influential report is validation of our simple, open and automated approach and execution towards being our customers’ #1 security partner.Cisco Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) stands out from the competition for many reasons, and it all starts with our world-class threat intelligence organization, Talos. It constantly analyzes threat data and creates security protections that the Cisco NGFW uses to automatically protect organizations against known, unknown and emerging threats. As a result of Talos’ powerful capabilities, Cisco NGFW customers were protected from headline-grabbing attacks such as WannaCry, NotPetya, and VPNFilter.
But we know that you can’t stop threats that you can’t see. So, Cisco NGFW goes beyond prevention to give you deep visibility into telemetry and potentially malicious file activity across users, hosts, networks, and infrastructure. This enables you to detect malicious activity fast and eliminate it before damage can be done.
Finally, Cisco NGFW saves you time and enables automation using our integrated architecture. With automated policy application and enforcement, you can focus on your core business mission. Cisco NGFW also seamlessly works together with the rest of our integrated security tools so you can see more, detect faster and automatically block and respond.
Our NGFW portfolio has gained incredible momentum in the last few years, including the introduction of the innovative Firepower 2100 Series, significant improvements to usability and speed of Firepower Management Center, and continued integrations with third-party tools and our own growing security portfolio. We also recently introduced an integrated solution to secure the modern data center using NGFW, Tetration, Stealthwatch and Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) technologies.
No other firewall vendors have the strength and breadth of networking and security capabilities that Cisco offers. We’re committed to continuing our momentum and helping our customers grow their businesses by protecting their environments from today’s threats.

Checkpoints also far more vision.
@Nhuong I would encourage you to take some time to really dig into the Cisco Security offering starting with Firepower Threat Defense and extending that conversation to the rest of the portfolio. Check out a video I put together highlighting some of the integration

With built-in integrations with network devices and ability to act on every node on the network (access switches [in the case if Cisco device is used], routers, firewalls, endpoints & clouds), why Cisco is still behind others regarding vision completeness? I wonder what others offer even without ability to push network transport devices to act on-time, which Cisco cannot?
Great to see the recognition! Well deserved!
Congrats !!! What are Cisco next steps for a better "Completeness of Vision"?
