I have an incredible team, and we achieve incredible things together. It’s rewarding to see each and every one of them succeed, and for that success to be realized externally.2016 golden bridge awards cisco

Today, I’m proud to share that the 2016 Golden Bridge Business and Innovation Awards recognized three members of our Cisco Security and Trust Organization for their work in improving security for our customers, for Cisco, and for the industry at large:

  • Michelle Dennedy won Gold for Woman Executive of the Year – Information Technology Services
  • Michelle Fleury was selected as the Gold Winner for Best Woman Professional of the Year
  • Edna Conway was awarded Gold for Woman Executive of the Year – Information and Communications Technology and Silver for Best Woman Professional of the Year

When Michelle Dennedy joined our team last September, I knew that she would hit the ground running in her role as Cisco’s first Chief Privacy Officer. Her passion around privacy, policy, and protecting those on the Internet was evident from the first time I met her and endures today. This Gold award for Woman Executive of the Year – Information Technology Services actually doesn’t come as a surprise to me, as day-in-and-day-out Michelle exemplifies the best characteristics and talents of women in ITS.

The selection committee was spot on awarding Michelle Fleury Gold for Best Women Professional of the Year. As Cisco’s Chief Data Protection Officer, Michelle and her team are responsible for corporate data governance, enterprise-wide data incident response, and comprehensive security certification and compliance. She is actively involved in customer engagements and a highly sought and recognized data protection advocate across Cisco and throughout the industry.

Edna Conway continues to amaze, winning Gold for Woman Executive of the Year – Information and Communications Technology and Silver for Best Women Professional of the Year. As the security leader for our Global Value Chain, Edna and her team focus on the security and resiliency of Cisco’s value chain, as well as Cisco’s supply chain cyber and security protection plan through its suppliers and channel partners. She also is sought frequently for customer engagements, and is an industry thought leader in value chain security.

Each of these talented women leads across Cisco to secure our digital company, our solutions, our data, and the data our customers entrust to us. They also continue to be advocates across the industry and the golden bridges to our customers, as they deliver better privacy, policy, data and asset protection, value chain security, and help us all to be more secure.

I’m looking forward to attending the Red Carpet Awards Ceremony on September 12 and applauding their distinguished recognition. Congratulations Michelle, Michelle, and Edna! Your passion, drive, and exemplary work continue to be an inspiration for our team and Cisco, others throughout our industry, and me, most of all.
