There will be fifty billion things connected to the Internet by 2020. Untold new and valuable connections will be formed as people, processes, data and things connect and create the next wave of the Internet that we call the Internet of Everything.
Our ability to realize the $19 trillion of economic potential inherent in that Internet of Everything will be dependent on the applications that facilitate business transactions; enable partners and suppliers to interact; transform how users share, learn and buy; and deliver analytics derived from all of these connections.
The ability of organizations to seize the opportunity of the Internet of Everything will be determined by how well CIOs embrace new models of I.T. The performance and security of these critical applications will be determined by how well the I.T. industry rises to the challenge of delivering new forms of I.T. infrastructure.
Today is a big day for Cisco as we rise to that challenge for delivering FAST IT.
I’m excited to announce that today marks the beginning of the next wave of innovation for the Cisco Unified Computing System.
https://youtu.be/j1B8cxbFuWY
Five years ago, we delivered Cisco Unified Computing System, a groundbreaking architecture designed for virtualization, automation and orchestration that uniquely addressed the needs of customers embarking on the journey to data center virtualization and cloud.
Today, we’re delivering an even broader and more powerful portfolio of technologies to help customers power applications at every scale and add intelligence at the edge, at the core, and at the scale of cloud. We’re introducing modular servers for cloud-scale applications; Cisco UCS Mini for small-scale and enterprise-edge environments; new fourth generation UCS Rack and Blade Servers for application performance; and new UCS Director solutions to manage Big Data infrastructure workloads.
At Cisco, we strongly believe that partnerships enhance our innovation. Today we are also announcing an important evolution of our partnership with Red Hat. Together with Red Hat, we are introducing a new integrated infrastructure solution based on Cisco UCS for OpenStack-based cloud deployments.
Cisco UCS Integrated Infrastructure for Red Hat OpenStack brings together Cisco UCS, Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure and Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform to help customers streamline deployment and operation of OpenStack-based private clouds.
Our new joint solution represents another important milestone in Cisco’s Intercloud strategy as well. It comes equipped with Cisco InterCloud Fabric service management software. This enables customers to move data and applications between their private cloud and Cisco Intercloud services, or other public cloud providers – easily and securely while maintaining associated network and security policies.
I invite you to watch the September 4 Announcement Event webcast replay to hear more about our exciting news and how IT is evolving for the IoE era.

Clearly, there’s increasing executive-level interest in hybrid cloud scenarios. I’m looking forward to more insights about how Open Hybrid Cloud infrastructure can enable the digital business transformation that so many CEOs demand today.
I am learning cisco.
Hi Padmasree,
Great article.. 🙂
#Cisco’s advancement on the Server Platform has been simply remarkable. It is a major achievement, Kudos to team Cisco, they deserve alot for their hardwork on building cutting edge technologies for modern datacenter, cloud and IoT.
A Great Success story. Within just a span of 4 – 5 years (from 2009) Cisco captured a huge market share in the Server x86 domain and proved to be growing faster than HP, IBM.. etc year over year (
Report: Cisco Achieves Top Rank in Americas’ x86 Blade Server Market, Named No. 1 in Revenue Market Share; http://newsroom.cisco.com/release/1426059 ). It took other companies several years to establish a dominant position in the Server space. Looking forward for the same with respect to Cisco’s SDN Strategy (ONE, ACI, OpenDayLight.. etc) as well to be the dominant force in the SDN Space vs. VMware NSX strategy and vs the rising Merchant Silicon based White Box manufacturers plus Cumulus Networks strategy.
And also, by Mr. Wagner from Light Reading; (VMware, Cisco Build Rival Data Center Teams; http://www.lightreading.com/data-center/data-center-infrastructure/vmware-cisco-build-rival-data-center-teams/a/d-id/710311 ). Interesting article on Network World, by Mr. John; Cisco describes its SDN vision: A Q&A with Soni Jiandani; please, look into the following link as well very interesting and promising SDN strategy, well explained & a great converstation. http://www.networkworld.com/article/2455698/sdnisco-describes-its-sdn-vision-a-qanda-with-soni/sdn/cisco-describes-its-sdn-vision-a-qanda-with-soni-jiandani.html
Another interesting article on Register.co.uk’s site as well regards to White-Boxes:
White box switches out-sell Brocade, Arista in the data centre
( http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/09/05/white_box_switches_outsell_brocade_arista_in_the_data_centre/ )
Regards to the recent launch. Was thrilled & fascinated by the new products and innovations introduced on the respective products launched.
Products: Cisco UCS M-Series Servers (Modular), UCS C3160 rack storage server (Register.co.uk’s article looks interesting as well suggesting a Server SAN Strategy essential for Cisco; http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/09/05/cisco_needs_server_san_strategy/ ), UCS Mini/ 6324 Fabric Interconnect, UCS B200 M4 Blade Server, C220 M4, C240 M4 Rack Servers and UCS Director Express. Plus the partnership with RedHat on OpenStack Platform, InterCloud and Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) as well.
Cisco has proven time and time again to be the leader in the IT/ Cloud space and in the HyperScale Converged IT Infrastructure for modern Data Centers. And Cisco truly is. Well done and Great work. Amazing innovation.
Looking forward for more exciting news from Cisco Systems. Amazing Cisco, ” research. engineer. innovate. ” 🙂
Wishing all a good day ahead.
Regards,
Neeraj 🙂
I believe for sure that this a never ending journey toward new technology platforms development and integration success, and is a great thing to be part of those achievements…thanks for sharing this information.
I can not comment for being forced to go on Cisco.com for Liberty Mutual insurance.
I am not comfortable LM forcing me to a wide open multiple products & services. If you want to contact use my home ph 775-827-2356 or cell phone number you have.
I have already
Technology is evolving so rapidly and the internet is still so young. 2020 is not that far away.
Am still amature in cisco program and I really luv it. I can’t wait to b an expact in it
I was waiting for this day only where Red Hat and Cisco can come together and change the future of internet and cloud. This is going to be a huge revolution in internet.
Oh my goodness! Amazing article dude! Many thanks,
However I am going through problems with your RSS.
I don’t understand the reason why I cannot subscribe to
it. Is there anyone else having identical RSS problems?
Anyone that knows the solution will you kindly respond?
Thanx!!
Here is my web site … this
These are very interesting time we live in for sure. I differ a bit from the commentator above though I believe The revolution has begun in full swing already. For a couple years now at least. We are finally seeing the fruits of all our labor pay off in a more robust and secure internet by far more then we’ve ever known. I speak from experiance just coming from being on the front line of the hybrid cloud development software wars. I made out rather nicely to I might add.It seems that Cisco and the child company SoftLayer along with RED HAT who I blamed for all my woes but now see the error of that and getting the direct benefit of open source software and hybrid cloud servers that I have SuperAdmin rights to. I may be utillizing your services here in the real near future. I guess my question to you Padmasree Warrior is how does that work if I’m offering a SaaS and PaaS what would our business relationship be like. I am getting to the point in my products development where I’m going to have to partner up with somebody and stop playing the lone ranger. I had to be solo for much of the developing and aquirement stages because I simply could trust no one. That is thankfully coming an an end. I see that the rapid pace of the advancement of these technologies will leave the sleeping and the dull in the dust. Please contact me if you are so inlcined I would like to discuss the state of things with you. Thanks! Troy.d@jackonworld.net
Technology has shown their light rays everywhere and cisco is one of the source for providing such,
