Cisco looks forward to joining thousands of information and communications technology (ICT) professional to discuss modernizing utilities in Fort Worth, TX on June 17 – 21, 2019 at the annual UTC Telecom & Technology conference. Conference-goers will have the chance to attend pre-conference training, workshops, round-tables, summits, and three days of education covering all aspects of the ICT industry to network and learn how experts from around the globe are modernizing their utilities. At the center of this event, over 200 industry-leading companies like Cisco will be showing their latest technology at work.
We are happy to a be a Gold Sponsor and the Connected Security Solutions track sponsor at this year’s event. For over 30 years we have helped our utility customers modernize their networks and operations and truly understand the importance of security to our 200+ utility customers around the world. Through the work in helping our utilities customers with communication devices in over 10,000 substations in the US and almost 11 million smart meters under contract, we understand that modernizing infrastructure and integrating diverse energy resources are top priorities.
For those in attendance at the UTC conference who would like to learn about some of the security issues we hear are of concern to our customers we encourage you to attend Wednesday’s breakout session: Threat Vectors and Attack Surfaces Related to Malware, Spyware and BYOD presented by Cisco’s Jeff Lund. Many evolving risks such as botnets as a service, cyber warfare, social engineering and the attack surface explosion that now includes IOT endpoints showcase the constantly increasing threat vectors that are not well mitigated in both the enterprise and ICS/OT domains. In fact, the Ukraine cyberattacks of 2016 and 2017 leveraged many of these threat vectors. Cisco Systems has partnered with various industry stakeholders to create an architecture and secure communications platform in the ICS/OT domain that will attempt to mitigate these threat vectors, attack surfaces and the Ukraine Kill Chains. This session will review the results of this collaboration, including the architectural guidelines, OT use cases, and validation and scoring of the resultant reference platform.
In between sessions come to the exhibit hall to visit the Cisco in Booth #917. At our booth learn why utilities are choosing Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking to lower their costs and deliver more services on a single, intelligent and secure platform. Meet with subject matter experts and see demos of the Field Area Network, Distribution Automation, Substation Automation, Comprehensive Security, Network Management System, and the Cisco GridBlocks architecture.
We will also be demonstrating our state-of-the industry substation and distribution network functionality, along with Cisco’s robust security capabilities, designed to keep the network locked down from outside interference. Additionally, as cities become more integrated with services and connected infrastructure, you’ll see how Cisco transforms the deployment of IoT devices with our unified network management system, Field Network Director. You will discover how FND can connect a city’s smart lighting and water systems for efficient utility management and reliable service communications.
Yes, Of course, Our team(Delegation) is preparing to attend training, workshops, round-tables, summits, and 3 days of education and would like to contribute to ICT. I think it's a really nice platform to learn innovative technologies from the gurus across the world gathering at one place.
