As you know, the most important event for networkers in Latin America is coming: Cisco Live Cancun.
My name is Freddy Bello, I am a Cisco Systems Consulting Engineer, and even though I have a busy schedule due to the NOC organization, I always take the opportunity to take a certification exam. Let me tell you why.
As part of the pre-event preparations, we make plans for our agenda, sign up for the sessions that interest us most, look for 1:1 meetings with experts and agree to meet with colleagues, among other things. However, we rarely consider taking an exam in that environment as part of the experience of the entire event. Why? I don’t know, they are great!
If I should recommend something before going, this would undoubtedly be that you took a certification exam during Cisco Live Cancun for the following reasons:
- They have a fixed date on the agenda. This way you avoid procrastinating and moving the exam from one place to another (yes, it happens a lot).
- You receive a special discount. If you register before October 28, the discount is 75%. If you register during the event you get a 50% off.
- There are no losses: You pass, or you learn!
As I mentioned before, my agenda during Cisco Live is usually super tight; however, I always try to take an exam at the event, since it represents a challenge to improve my time management, it allows me to study and continue to certify myself.
I usually do it the third day in the morning. As soon as I get up, I get ready and before doing any other activity I go to the Testing Center, do some of my interest and test my knowledge.
I am certified in CCIE, but you can prepare for different types of certification exams:
- entry-level CCENT
- associate-level CCNA and CCDA
- professional-level CCNP
- expert-level CCIE and CCDE
- Specialist certifications through the Labs
