We’re off to another edition of VMworld with some great technology to showcase. Our theme this year is your data center is everywhere, the center of innovation. And talking about innovation we will be demoing some recent work around our desktop virtualization solution with VMware. We will have demo pods showcasing our UCS solutions for Virtual SAN and VDI as well as a demo showing graphic acceleration for VDI with Cisco UCS and NVIDIA GRID on Horizon. By the way, did you catch NVIDIA’s announcement today about GRID 2.0. This is pretty exciting news as graphic acceleration is key to a seamless user experience when you virtualize desktops or applications. With Cisco UCS a market leader in blade servers we’re looking forward to bringing virtualized GPUs to our B-series servers. As we see more and more graphic-intensive applications being virtualized to protect intellectual property by keeping data safely in the data center Cisco is working with NVIDIA and ISVs to qualify hardware configuration for specific applications. Read about Esri ArcGISPro recent testing on Cisco UCS C240-M4 and NVIDIA K2 GPU.

We also recently completed a white paper to help our partners and customers integrate NVIDIA GRID graphics processing cards and the C240 M4 servers on VMware vSphere and VMware Horizon in virtual dedicated graphics acceleration (vDGA), virtual shared graphics acceleration (vSGA), and virtual graphics processing unit (vGPU) modes.

Another key focus at VMworld this year will be our UCS Integrated Infrastructure portfolio. Catch up with the latest in our mini theater with presentations on NetApp FlexPod, EMC Vblock and VSPEX, IBM VersaStack and Nimble Storage SmartStack.

Hear from UCS customers in Nimble Storage session #SDDC6246-SPO: Next-generation Integrated Infrastructure: A Panel Discussion – Tuesday, 9/1 at 5:30PM. Sheldon D’Paiva from Nimble Storage will talk with three SmatStack customers, online retailer BuySeasons, Inc., Seneca Mortgage Servicing, and Corona-Norco Unified School District and discuss approaches, strategies and the benefits of choosing an integrated infrastructure. In this VMworld breakout session you’ll learn how Corona-Norco deployed SmartStack for VDI to scale to over 3,000 concurrent users.

Another exiting new development on the VDI front is support for Linux virtual desktops. Cisco will be talking about Red Hat Linux VDI on Cisco B200 M4 with Horizon View 6.1 in our mini theater. Don’t miss it!

Check out all things Cisco at VMworld on our website cisco.com/go/vmworld and visit us at booth # 1721 to catch a theater presentation and be entered into a daily drawing to win an Apple Watch Sport.

I’m looking forward to meeting in person and discussing the great business outcomes brought by GPU-accelerated desktop and app virtualization. See you at the show!
