For the second year in a row, the Cisco on Cisco IT team planned and hosted Data Center Day for customers, showcasing our data center in Allen, Texas. Held on September 30th, the event focused on our Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) journey.

Among the speakers and panelists were Cisco IT leaders John Manville, Lance Perry, and Shaw-Jen Chang, along with Frank D’Agostino from the Insieme Business Unit and Parvesh Sethi from Advanced Services. Cisco President of Sales and Development, Rob Lloyd, delivered the keynote.

After the keynote and panel discussion in the morning, attendees enjoyed real Texas barbecue, followed by multiple live demos and an in-depth tour of the Allen data center. Customers experienced first-hand how we’re deploying Cisco technologies, and heard from IT architects about how we designed, built, and manage this LEED Gold facility. Customers also had an opportunity to meet with Cisco executives and IT experts to learn how we address many of the same IT challenges they face while delivering desired business outcomes.

With a 4.6 overall customer satisfaction rating, the event was incredibly well received. It was attended by 144 customers from 75 companies. They represented all segments of business including enterprise, service provider, public sector, and commercial.

I could not be more proud of the Cisco on Cisco team and the cross-functional collaboration it took to execute this event. We are already looking forward to seeing you at our next Data Center Day in 2015.
