Stephen Orr is an 18 year veteran of Cisco and serves as a Distinguished Systems Engineer (DSE) for Cisco's Public Sector Theater where he is responsible for working with a broad range of Public Sector customers such as the DoD, Civilian, State & Local Government as well as Higher Education customers on network solution architectures and strategies for IP Mobility, Wireless, IPv6, Security, and Enterprise Architecture designs. He is leading Cisco expert on IPv6, IP Mobility and Wireless. Stephen is a dual Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) in Routing and Switching and Wireless and is one of the co-authors for Cisco’s CCIE Wireless written and lab exams. He’s also the author of a number wireless and mobility whitepapers: Secure Wireless Architectures for Federal Agencies; Secure Mobile Architecture for Tactical Communications; Service Enabled Mission Fabric. He has also co-authored a US patent for Directory Number Mobility Utilizing Dynamic Network Distributed Dial-Peer Updates. With his background in wireless and IPv6 Stephen is a sought after subject matter expert in the areas of mobility solutions, wireless security, and deployment of IPv6 architectures. Specific expertise is as follows: Wireless 802.11; Mobile IP; Mobile Networks; Mobile Security; 802.11i; Identity; 802.1x; Extensible Authentication Protocol; 802.1AE ;IPv6 Transition Architectures, the US Federal IPv6 Certification process; and Complex Campus Architectures.Orr often serves as a presenter and panel member at industry conferences as well as for several Federal Technology Forums on Wireless Security and IPv6. In addition to conferences, Stephen has participated in a number of trade magazine and news paper interviews for the Washington Post, Government Computer News, and Federal Computer Week dealing with a wide range of mobility and security topics.
