Paul Barbosa

Paul Barbosa is the Cyber Security Sales Director for Cisco’s U.S. Commercial Market. The U.S. Commercial division is Cisco’s largest theater in the Americas, spanning all 50 U.S. states. Paul and his team of Cyber Security Specialists are responsible for more than 800M in annual sales for the company. The Commercial Cyber Security team includes over 100 professionals all passionately focused on Customer and Partner success.

With 20 years of operations and sales experience in I.T. and communications, Paul brings a deep working knowledge of Cisco's Security Solutions & Architecture along with experience from Enterprise, Federal and Commercial markets. His leadership philosophy is “Brilliant in the Basics”. Paul believes sustained excellence is achieved through high standards and habits of tactical brilliance. He is valued for his passionate and enthusiastic leadership style; ability to accelerate strategy from concept to execution, and success at building highly motivated teams.

Prior to leading the U.S. Commercial Security Business, Paul was the Systems Engineering Director for the Western U.S. Commercial market, where he played a critical role in helping define a new model for delivering Cisco value to customers and partners. During his tenure, he consistently delivered exceptional double-digit growth in a dynamically changing business. He was instrumental in developing a new sales model to better serve his customers. His organization made the transition from product experts to architecture specialists to better assist customers in delivering the business outcomes possible with Cisco technology.

Before joining Cisco in 2007, Paul spent 7 years with R.L. Phillips, a cyber security consulting firm. He joined the firm of 8 employees and grew the business, reporting to the CEO as the Director of Security Consulting & Engineering, to 60 engineers. Paul also served as the Chief Security Architect for the Navy and Marine Corps Intranet.

Prior to R.L. Phillips Paul served as a U.S. Marine where he specialized in tactical communications & early generation security solutions. He is credited with a series of ground breaking cyber security operational deployments across the globe.

Paul holds a degree in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University.
