Marcos currently fills the duty as a Marketing Manager with the Global Public Sector Marketing Team. His primary focus is Central Government. His role is to ensure that Cisco’s business decisions are grounded in a deep understanding of current and potential Government customer requirements and to grow Cisco’s value to government by improving customer satisfaction within this market.
Marcos served as a Forensic Scientist with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation from 2002 – 2010. His duties and responsibilities included the 24 hour response to violent crimes across the state of Mississippi. This included expertise in any or all of the following areas: Death Investigation, Shooting Incident Reconstruction, Latent Print Comparison/Examination, Blood Spatter Analysis, Forensic Mapping, Forensic Photography, and Evidence collection and preservation. In the 8 years Marcos worked for the MBI, he processed nearly 200 violent crime scenes across the state of Mississippi. He was also deployed to Hurricane Katrina where he assisted the Medical Examiner and Harrison County Coroner’s Office in 2005 as a team leader with Search and Recovery Efforts with his main concentration in the Biloxi, MS area.
Marcos concurrently served as an Officer with the MS Army National Guard. His first duty was as a Signal Detachment Commander with 2nd Battalion / 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne) from 2001 – 2006, including a Tour in support of Operation Enduring Freedom / Afghanistan in 2003. In 2006, he transferred to 1-155th Infantry Battalion where he served roles as a Rifle Platoon Leader and a Battalion Assistant S-3 (Operations) from 2006 – 2009. He was deployed in support of both Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike where he served as a Battle Captain in the Tactical Operation Center during Gustav and as a Liaison Officer in the Emergency Operation Center during Ike.
