Gerardo started his career at Cisco in 1998 as a Software Engineer developing voice over IP (VoIP) applications in the newly formed enterprise voice and video business unit. Within 2 years he transitioned to product marketing as a Product Manager in charge of defining requirements for IP Telephony solutions with focus on APIs, Call Control and softphones. In 2006 he moved to Costa Rica where he held Business Development and Product Sales Specialist positions for the Central America, Caribbean North of South America region. Since 2012 he has been a Escalation Virtual System Engineer in the Global Virtual Engineering Group where he provides pre-sales support for account teams and partners around the world.

Before joining Cisco, Gerardo designed voicemail and Unified Messaging solutions for Siemens in California and Germany. He also developed Contact Center and CTI solutions for Aspect Communications in San Jose, California.
