Francis Judith Gotopo Roque is a Systems Engineer (SE) at Cisco Systems, now with more than 8 years of experience working with Service Providers and Small to Mid-size customers in industries from finance to manufacturing in Canada and LATAM. In her role as a Systems Engineer, Francis spends her days immersing herself in new and emerging Cisco technologies, and then working alongside customers to design and deploy technology solutions that include Cisco Infrastructure. She has been recognize as SP Systems Engineer of the Quarter in three opportunities since 2010 and in 2011 she was the recipient of the Collaboration Award as part of the Cisco LATAM SE Award program. She holds a Master’s Degree in Telecommunications and Data Transmission Network and a Bachelor Degree in Electronic Engineering from the two top Universities in Venezuela (and Top ranked in LatinAmerica) and Cisco Certifications like CCNP SP and CCDP. After 8 years of career mostly in the Telecommunications and IT space she and her husband decided it was time for a change of scenery (and weather) and moved to Toronto.
Beyond being and SE, Francis is an advocate for Women/Girls in Tech empowerment participating with organizations like: Cisco Connected Women, CareerMash, Girls in ICT Day, First Robotics. Also, Francis Co-founded and currently Co-Direct “Sentir Venezuela” a Traditional Venezuelan Dance Group in Toronto and most of her volunteer time goes to it. When she is not working or volunteering, she treasures the family time with her husband and daughters and share with them her other passions: traveling, dancing and sports (basketball (NBA) and Baseball (MLB))
