Systems Engineering

Mr. Bill Lapp is a Director of Systems Engineering for Cisco's Collaboration portfolio which includes Webex conferencing, (Tandberg) Telepresence Video, IP Telephony, Contact Center, and more. His staff of ~70 Systems Engineering Managers, Technical Solution Architects, and Consulting System Engineers cover the Enterprise segment which includes the Fortune 500 and represents about $1 billion product and services sales annually. His group is responsible interfacing with the technical decision makers at Cisco's customer base and driving Unified Communications sales by demonstrating the business value in an end to end Cisco architecture. In less than 10 years Cisco has become the #1 provider of Enterprise Telephony, Video, Web Conferencing, and Communications.

Mr. Lapp was previously an Associate Member of the Technical Staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratory where he worked in the field of high performance real-time computing and its application to Ballistic Missile Defense and radar technologies. Mr. Lapp traveled the globe extensively for this project including destinations such as Washington DC, Australia, Antigua, California, Hawaii, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Mr. Lapp earned his BS and MS degrees in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2002 and his MBA with a focus on Entrepreneurship from Babson College in 2010. He currently resides in both San Francisco and Maine and is often found in your nearby United Airlines terminal.
