Arielle Sumits is a Senior Analyst with Cisco’s worldwide service provider marketing group. She is the founding analyst and primary architect of the Internet and mobile traffic forecasts that are a cornerstone of the Cisco Visual Networking Index (VNI) — the company's ongoing effort to quantify and analyze the growth and use of the Internet and IP networks worldwide. She is also responsible for the data center and cloud traffic forecasts that are published as part of the Cisco Global Cloud Index (GCI) — the company's ongoing effort to assess the growth of global data center and cloud-based IP traffic as well as analysis of trends associated with data center virtualization and cloud computing.
Arielle has more than 15 years of telecom industry experience in a variety of research roles, from quantitative data analysis to qualitative market assessment. Arielle has more than 20 years of professional experience including programming and product marketing positions at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and startup Frictionless Commerce.
She earned a B.S. degree in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
