Dave Frampton

Vice President and General Manager

Secure Access Mobility Product Group

Dave Frampton is the Vice President and General Manager of Cisco’s Secure Access Mobility Product Group (SAMPG).  In this role his is responsible for Cisco’s Secure Access business which encompasses Cisco’s Identity Services Engine (ISE), AnyConnect security client, and TrustSec policy based enforcement solutions.  Explosive growth trends in Bring Your Own Device and cloud application delivery are driving demand for controlling access to critical information assets based on the who, when, what, where, and how context of the request. Cisco’s Secure Access portfolio delivers a complete solution to policy based secure access unified across wired, wireless, and VPN. 

Prior to this role he was Vice President and General Manager of Cisco’s Application Delivery Business Unit responsible Cisco’s Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) business.  In this role he focused on shifting the business model & strategy for WAN & Application Optimization from over the top point product solutions to embedded solutions integrated with infrastructure and complementary services – cloud, VDI, application performance management, etc.

Prior to that role Mr. Frampton held the position of Vice President and General Manager of Cisco’s LAN Switching Business Unit responsible for the Catalyst 2xxx and 3xxx Access Switch portfolio. In this role he focused on integrating new value added services such as EnergyWise power and energy management into the access switching infrastructure.   

Prior to that role he held the position of Vice President of Marketing and Product Management for Cisco’s Access Routing Technology Group where he helped lead the transformation of the Access Router market into a Branch Services Platform market with the integration of security, voice, and WAN optimization into Cisco’s Integrated Services Router platform.  

Mr. Frampton joined Cisco Systems in July 1996.  Prior to Cisco, he held product management and marketing positions at Stratacom, SBC (Pacific Bell), and Sprint.

Mr. Frampton holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, and a Master of Science in Engineering & Technology Management all from Stanford University. 

Outside of work Mr. Frampton enjoys trail running, mountain trekking, back country travelling in New Mexico & Alaska, and history.
